Karolyn Farrell Artist’s Statement

Karolyn Kaye (McMillan) Farrell  won awards and sold art at an early age.  She has taught art to students from ages 5 to 95, for school districts on the East Coast (MD), in the Kansas City area, and Fayetteville, AR as well as for Art Galleries.

She holds a Master's and an Educational Specialist Degree with emphasis on "Creativity and the Older Adult."  Her paintings are in numerous private, corporate, medical, state and other collections across the United States.  As director of the Fayetteville Community Schools and Adult Education under the school district and the State, she was able to offer wide areas of art education for the community as well as fund part time teaching positions for many artists.  Farrell wrote and directed grants through the Levi Foundation, the National Office of Aging, the AR Arts Councils, etc.  A video "Bridging the Gap" was produced and disseminated internationally depicting intergenerational art activities as a result of this.

She is listed in "Who's Who among Women Internationally." in America and in the South. She is a signature member of the Artists of Northwest AR (successfully juried into 6 or more multi-state shows), a member of Oil Painters of America, Mid-America Pastel Society, Portrait Society of America and Plein Air Painters of the Ozarks.  Her work is in local and out of state galleries.  She enjoys painting the beautiful environment in the Ozarks as well as on her travels.  She has studied  with D. Leffel, A Handell, G. Frick, and others.

She is thankful she is able to share her work and bring peace and happiness to others.
