Jaquita Ball's Artist’s Statement

“Art is a reflection of our lives, both as the creator and the participant. It speaks volumes about who we have been and who we seek to be. I create based on what I know and what I want to know, just as you are drawn to or repulsed by a specific piece based on your life experiences and dreams for the future. You are seeing my soul, my life, my happiness, my fears, and my hopes for the future when you participate in my art.”

A child of Arkansas, Jaquita is a native of Berryville and Fayetteville, plus lived a long time in Little Rock. She holds a BA in Art, a minor in Journalism from the University of Arkansas, spending a large portion of her career in advertising, marketing and public relations. In addition to regional art awards, Jaquita is the recipient of numerous creative awards from the American Advertising Federation, Public Relations Society of America, and industry-specific awards in hospital and non-profit advertising. She worked several years as the news and courtroom artist at Little Rock’s KARK, with many of her court sketches aired nationally on NBC news.

Working out of her studio in Fayetteville, AR, 72701. Her work includes her specialty … donkeys … plus landscapes, pets, political and equine art in pastels, acrylics and mixed media.
