David grew up in south Florida and the colors and motifs of the subtropics are evident in his work. His very unique combination of texture and color create a work that is easily recognizable and highly individualistic.

He has received recognition in the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Fort Lauderdale Museum of Fine Arts, and Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach, Savannah Art Association, and Ringling Museum in Sarasota, Florida, Norton Gallery in Palm Beach, Jacksonville Museum of Fine Arts, and Museum of Corpus Christi.
